Getting Found When Buyers Ask AI Instead of Google

Search is shifting from a list of links to a single answer. Here is what that changes for how property firms get discovered.

More of your buyers now open an AI assistant before they open a search engine. They ask a question in plain language and read one synthesised answer. If your firm is not part of that answer, you were not shortlisted, and you never saw it happen.

Why this is different from search

Classic search rewarded a page that ranked. The buyer still saw ten options and chose. An AI answer collapses that to one response drawn from sources the model trusts. The question is no longer only "do we rank" but "are we one of the sources the model cites".

Three things that move the needle

  1. Say things clearly, in your own words. Models favour content that states a position plainly and backs it with specifics. Vague positioning gets skipped.
  2. Be consistent across the places you appear. Your site, your profiles and your published work should tell the same story with the same facts.
  3. Publish the answers buyers actually ask for. Every real question a client asks you is a candidate for a short, clear piece that a model can quote.

What this means for your firm

You do not need to chase every platform. You need a small body of clear, specific, consistent content that answers the questions your buyers ask. Start with the five questions you hear most in first calls, and write the honest answer to each.
